Area Activities
If you're serious about getting some exercise, you can
stair-train on the treehouse's five flights of stairs (77 treads!) while breathing fresh
mountain air, and then cool off with a bracing dip in the creek's swimming hole! Or hike
to High Rock Lookout via the Bertha Mae, Granite, and Cora Lakes, or take a pristine 18
mile mountain bike adventure to Packwood on Skate Creek Road, exploring miles of deserted
forest service roads and paths.
Go huckleberry picking in the summer and
chanterelle mushroom hunting in the fall.
Cross-country skiing is all around you many
months of the year.
Of course, Mount Rainier National Park is only
ten minutes away, and Mount St. Helen's is just an hour's drive south, taking the scenic
backroads through Packwood and Randle.
As the day winds down, you may want to fish for
some of the native trout, cook out beside the creek, and later on enjoy the stars and
sounds of night sitting around the campfire.
